TAML has set up its state of the art facilities at Jigani Industrial area, 30 kms south of Bangalore City, in a 16 acre plot. Its infrastructure, apart from experienced and trained manpower, consists of all the elements required for the Design, Analysis and Manufacturing of composite solutions to international standards. With this, a comprehensive capability exists within the company to undertake Design, Development, Testing and Production of different types of composite products for different applications, Markets & Industries.

History

The history of mankind is filled with events which required the people to fight, defend and protect themselves against various “enemies” which included mother nature who unleashed her fury by way of rain, heat, snow etc. As mankind grew conflicts came up which necessitated them to fight against other men and since then man has been finding solutions to protect themselves. Starting of with leaves and tree barks to animal hides, graduating to materials like steel man has been finding “Protective Solutions” for centuries. The TATA group is recognized the world over for its contribution to the establishment of modern India with its trail blazing contributions by initiating, nurturing and growing sectors like Steel , Automobiles, Space, Fundamental Research, Power , Aviation, Information Technology. The group initiated social engineering with concepts like provident fund (social security), family planning, healthcare, village adoption and so on and at one point the steel manufacturing company even had a tagline – WE ALSO MAKE STEEL. The group has always ventured where no one has dared to if it meant benefiting the nation.   In keeping with this tradition, the group started the TATA ADVANCED MATERIALS LTD in 1990 to develop solutions using composite material when few had heard of composite materials. True to style the emphasis was on nation building and the company offered solutions for Personal Armor by manufacturing Bullet Proof Jackets (BPJ), Bullet Proof Helmets (BPH) and associated solutions. The company followed this up with solutions for the Indian Satellite program, Aircraft development, Other Defense related solutions and now in 2008 is on the verge of making yet another paradigm shift keeping in mind the current security and economic scenario in the country. The company is poised to offer some exciting new futuristic solutions in AEROSPACE, DEFENSE AND INDUSTRY segments of the market.
